Mission

Transfer Student Success provides resources, services, and programs to empower Triton Transfers to achieve their goals as they navigate UC San Diego's academic and cultural landscape. We assist students in their transition through active engagement in opportunities that support their paths and build community so they thrive academically, professionally, and personally. We support the campus community to share knowledge and implement proven promising practices to support transfer student experiences.

Inclusively Statement

Transfer Student Success commits to maintaining an inclusive community by standing against racism, sexism, ableism, discrimination, and other systemic inequities by fostering an environment that is accessible, empathetic, and open-minded to every student's needs. Our expansive collaborations ensure we are well-informed, student-centered advocates on the cutting edge of support. 

Programmatic Goals

• By participating in services provided by Transfer Student Success, students will be able to:

Our Origin Story

In 2019, voices of students, faculty and staff came together to advocate for transfer student support at UC San Diego. In October 2019, it was announced that the department Transfer Student Success would be developed to support transfer students to assure a smooth transition to UC San Diego and facilitate their achievement of their academic, professional and personal goals. A listening campaign was conducted in November 2019 which focused on transfer students' desires of services and support; these voices continue to help us prioritize activities specific to the UC San Diego transfer student population. We opened our doors to the inaugural Triton Transfer Hub in the WongAvery Library (formerly Biomedical Library Building) in Winter 2020! In Winter 2023, we moved to Pepper Canyon Hall, with more space to support the growing transfer population.
