About Hamzah Kerdi

He/ him

It’s a pleasure to introduce myself as one of your peer coaches! My name is Hamzah Kerdi, a San Diego native in my senior year at UC San Diego after transferring from Coastline College. Having also been a dual-enrolled student, I know the challenges and opportunities that come with both the transfer and dual enrollment pathways. I aim to make your UCSD journey smoother by being approachable, supportive, and ready to answer any questions, big or small.

My journey has centered on public service, policy, and research. I’ve worked at the Triton Transfer Hub, served as a Fellow in the Harvard Kennedy School’s Public Policy and International Affairs Program, and was named an Obama-Chesky Voyager Scholar, which allowed me to study migration and modernization abroad. I also supported UC’s federal advocacy in Washington, DC, through the UCDC program. At UCSD, I contribute to political science research, work with the Legal Aid Society on housing justice, and assist in teaching Arabic at Coastline College. If my experiences can help you, whether with research, fellowships, or navigating UCSD, I’d be glad to connect.
