Profile
Hello! My name is Madeline Balzarini (She/Her). I am a 4th-year student majoring in Anthropology with a concentration in Climate Change and Human Solutions, and I am minoring in Economics. I feel incredibly honored to be a UCSD transfer student. I am here to help you feel a sense of belonging, well-being, and purpose on campus. Cultivating community is important to me, so I socialized my first year by joining Tai Chi, Yoga, Zumba, and archery classes. I was fortunate to be accepted into the Justice and Equity fellowship, where I met other driven individuals, learned how to advocate for myself and others more effectively, and produced a website on social justice topics I am passionate about. I completed the Non-Violent Communication program and joined the Anthropology Mentorship program. I am also in the Future Innovator’s program, which presented me with the valuable opportunity to complete a global summer internship in Cape Town, South Africa.
Activities that bring me joy throughout the day are practicing and teaching Yoga, drinking matcha, and reading poetry. Through my exploration of the San Diego area, I found some amazing spots, so let me know if you would like recommendations for restaurants, botanical gardens, or hiking spots. There are so many wonderful ways to find connection on campus, and I am here to help you find ones that resonate with you. I look forward to meeting and supporting you throughout your journey at UCSD!
