Your College Academic Advisors advise on the General Education (GE) requirements of your college and university requirements. Meet with your College Academic Advisor to discuss your overall academic goals, degree audit, college GE requirements, and academic policies and regulations.
Department Academic Advising
Your Department Academic Advisors are specialists in your major and minor requirements. Meet with your Department Academic Advisors to understand your major/minor, course prerequisites, experiential learning opportunities, and career and graduate school planning.

Virtual Advising Center (VAC) Tutorial
At UCSD, the Virtual Advising Center (VAC) is the main resource to connect with both your College and Department Academic Advisors. The VAC allows you to make an appointment with a College/ Department Advisor, visit virtual advising drop-in sessions, and submit questions virtually.
