Transfer Student Success Microgrants

Transfer Student Success is delighted to provide departments and colleges the opportunity to receive microgrants for your transfer programs and events throughout the 2023-2024 academic year! We encourage you to think outside the box in ways you can support your transfer students. Programs should:

• Build community among transfer students - whether it be with each other or within their department
• Heighten awareness of and connection to resources
• Engage transfer students in high impact practices
• Support current transfer students

How much funding is available:

Transfer Student Success will fund up to $500 towards your event expenses. We have a limit of two microgrants available each quarter, so make sure to get your applications in on time. Departments and Colleges can apply more than once but only be approved once per academic year for a microgrant.

How it works:

• Submit your micro grant application one quarter in advance of your planned event - no later than Week 10.
  • Ex: if you are planning your event in Winter, submit by Week 10 of Fall
  • If you are planning a Fall event, please submit by September 15.
• Transfer Student Success will review applications and notify you if your department's or student organization's grant is approved by Week 1.
• Three weeks after your event:
  • With the help of your financial contact, submit an expense summary and receipt copies on our provided summary tracker (to be emailed if approved)
  • Reconcile expenses within your home department (through Concur, Oracle Procurement, or a Recharge).
• Please note expenses must comply with UC San Diego's financial policies.

By receiving the Transfer Student Success Microgrant, Transfer Student Success will ask you to: 

• Include indication of cross-sponsorship on your marketing material by including the Triton Transfer logo.
