In partnership with Career Launch, the Triton Transfer Hub welcomes all transfer students to participate in the Career Launch Program in Winter 2025! 

By participating in this program, transfer students will be able to:

  • Explore career fields.
  • Learn how to create relationships with professionals and network. 
  • Launch effective job and internship searches.
  • Improve self-confidence and career preparation.
  • Learn LinkedIn tips,
  • Cold-call professionals.

Program Timeline 

Career Launch will take place from Week 5 through Week 9 of the Winter 2025 Quarter.

Week 1: Application opens January 6 
Week 2: Optional Zoom Info Session on January 14 @ 4-5pm, register here
Week 4: Application closes Sunday January 26 at midnight. Applicants notified by end of Week.
Week 5: In-person Orientation Lunch on Friday, February 7 (Please see application for time) 
Week 6: Virtual Career Launch Coaching Session #1   
Week 7: Virtual Career Launch Coaching Session #2  
Week 8: Virtual Career Launch Coaching Session #3 
Week 9: FINAL Virtual Career Launch Coaching Session #4 + possible celebratory lunch 

Program Commitment

1. Attend the in-person Orientation Lunch during Week 5 (Please see application for the date/time) 
2. Attend all 4 live virtual sessions during Weeks 6-9* (Please see the application for the date/time) 
3. Commit 2 hours per week from Weeks 6-9 (1 hour for live virtual sessions + 1 hour to complete program exercises) 

*If needed, participants are allowed to miss 1 live virtual session to still be Career Launch Certified.  

Eligibility 

ALL transfer students interested in developing their careerare eligible to apply to the Career Launch Program! Priority will be given to students who identify as:

  • First-generation, or
  • From underserved populations;
  • Willing and able to commit to the 4-week long program.

Program Schedule

Career Launch is a 4-week, hybrid program with weekly virtual group coaching sessions, micro-learning videos and exercises, and an interactive workbook.

Group coaching sessions will be virtual, with an in-person Orientation which you are required to attend.

  •  Step 3: Professional Brand 
    • Task: Create email signature and LinkedIn profile
  • Step 4: Outreach
    • Task: Learn and use the "Playing the Student Card" strategy 
Week 8 Virtual Career Launch Coaching Session #3:
  • Step 5: Prepare for Career Conversations
    • Task: 5 questions to ask a professional 
  • Step 6: Advanced Preparation 
    • Task: Clearly identify your goals 
Week 9 Virtual Career Launch Coaching Session #4:
  • Step 7: Effective Follow-Up
    • Task: Sending a thank you email 
  • Step 8: Interviewing
    • Task: Write down stories to use during interviews

FAQs

What is the time commitment for participating (including time of day of programs)?

The program will run for 4 weeks from Week 6- Week 9 of Winter 2025 quarter.

The weekly time commitment would be about 2-3 hours per week. 

Please refer to the sample schedule above for a general breakdown of each week. Participants must commit to the entire duration of the program.

I submitted my application already, what are the next steps?

Thank you for applying! You will hear back from us by the end of Week 4 of Winter Quarter. We will reach out to you via email - remember to check your junk mail! Please be sure to be available for Orientation during Week 5. For the date and time of Orientation, please see the Career Launch Application for the time and day of the programs.

Where will this program be held? 

This program will be hybrid. Group coaching sessions will be held virtually on Zoom from week 6 through week 9 of Winter Quarter. We will also host an in-person orientation which you will be required to attend.

When will I know if I get in?

We intend to inform students that they have been selected to participate by the end of Week 4 of Winter quarter.

What is the advantage of participating in this program?

This program will help you become self-confident in your professional journey. You will learn the tools and knowledge to land the jobs and internships you want. After successfully completing the program, you will become Career Launch Certified.

Can I work while I participate in the program?

Yes, you can. Please refer to the Career Launch Program sample schedule above for a general breakdown of each week. Our recommendation is to familiarize yourself with the Program Commitments section and decided if you can commit to the dates and times of the program!
