About Danny Aoun

Hello! I am a fourth year transfer student from Clovis Community College located in the Central Valley. My major is cognitive behavioral neuroscience under the psychology department. I was originally majored in psychology, but I quickly realized I wanted more neuroscience classes. The switch allowed me to take cognitive science courses but I stayed under the psych department because the switch was easier and I was already getting involved in Psi Chi. 

Psi Chi is an international honors society for psychology students and is an academic opportunity to build connections and develop professionally. I learned more about the psychology honors program through an info session held by Psi Chi with an honors program staff member and led me to applying and joining in the winter quarter. Through some cold emailing and a lot of time, I entered Dr. Gremel's Brain and Decision-Making Lab as I wanted to conduct research at UCSD and it completes the research requirement for my degree and honors program. 

I have been practicing mixed martial arts for the past 10 years of my life with a emphasis on self-defense, but since coming to UCSD I have tried the Okinawan Karate and Ju Jutsu classes. I also enjoy basketball and other recreational sports whenever time permits.
