Profile

Hello! I’m Tatiana (She/Her/Ella), and I’m a 4th-year majoring in Media Industries & Communication with a Minor in Cinematic Arts. I’m also a part of Muir College! I’m originally from Los Angeles, in the San Fernando Valley, and transferred from Santa Monica College. Before transferring, I was involved in my community college’s Philosophy club and the Adelante Program, worked multiple part-time jobs, and consistently volunteered for the National Association of Latino Independent Producers. Since coming to UC San Diego, I have joined the Undergraduate Communication Society, where I now serve as Director of Public Relations! I also worked at the Triton Transfer Hub during my 1st year as a transfer student as a Marketing Student Assistant, and I've since transitioned to a Transfer Peer Coach. I also served as a Social Media Intern for the International Women’s Health Organization and completed a Film Production internship through Triton Television, which is our student-run film production studio on campus! Similarly, I also serve as Vice President of the Transfer Outreach Society, where we host weekly social events focused for transfer students to find community through fun events and activities!

While I'm interested in many media industries, this inspired me to found the Women in Media Organization here at UC San Diego to uplift underrepresented groups within media! This year, I will also be part of UCSD’s Communication Research Honors program, where I will conduct media research on racial representation in film and its impact on adolescents and their self-perception. This summer, I also worked as a Public Relations intern for a Public Relations agency/publicist in Los Angeles, supporting publicity campaigns for entertainment clients through media research, press outreach, and communications strategy. This fall quarter, I will be operating as a Domestic Film Marketing & Distribution intern!

Through these experiences, I have learned so much more about the media industries while also advocating for more representation for underrepresented groups and independent projects! I have also learned to navigate higher education as a first-generation student, which allows me to further support my fellow first-gen peers and friends!

Outside of school, I love going to the movies, reading mystery or historical books, hanging out with my friends, and going to concerts or DJ sets!
I'm here to support you in any capacity you need, whether it's doing well in classes, navigating campus life, or dealing with anything personal that's going on. :3
