Transfer Firsts PODS
Transfer Firsts: Professional Opportunities for Development and Success (PODS) is a professional development fund program for first-generation transfer students! This page is here to highlight the events that will count toward your program requirements and give you a chance to have everything at your fingertips.
Triton Firsts and the Triton Transfer Hub collaborate to provide first-generation transfer students with professional development funds. First-Generation is defined as neither parent nor guardian receiving a four-year college degree from an institution within the borders of the United States. This year it will be divided into thematic quarters. For every quarter you participate in, you will receive $150 in professional development funds. You can choose to participate in 1 quarter or all 3 quarters.
Fall Quarter: Involvement, Research, Experiential Learning Opportunities
Winter Quarter: Career Development and Resilience (e.g., wellness, etc.)
Spring Quarter: “Adulting” 101 (e.g., financial literacy)

Deadlines to complete the application:
Winter Quarter: February 8th, 2025
Spring Quarter: April 6th, 2025
TRANSFER FIRSTS PODS APPLICATION
Only one application is needed for all quarters. If you completed the application for a previous quarter no need to submit another application.
In order to receive professional Development funds (which will be granted the following quarter, ex fall events give winter funds) participants must complete all requirements below
Program requirements must be completed by:
Winter Quarter: February 28th, 2025
Spring Quarter: April 11th, 2025
Book Your Appointment with a peer coach
Once you have completed all of the requirements for the quarter (go you!!) you will receive an email from the coordinators letting you know you are eligible for funds and prompt you to make an appointment to purchase professional development. These funds can be used toward your professional development on expenses such as; conference registrations, graduate school applications, external course costs or fees (not tuition or lab fees), tools or software for use in your area of study, etc.
Funds should not be utilized towards obtaining your degree and cannot be professional clothing. Funds must be used by April 18th, 2025. Funds expire past this date.
